Jackie Uveges, LCSW
I believe true healing emerges through genuine human connection. As a Gestalt-trained therapist, I view our work together as a collaborative journey of exploration and discovery. Our therapeutic relationship serves as a transformative instrument through which we will co-construct meaning and deeper understanding, engaging in a nuanced dialogue that honors the intricate landscape of your individual experience. My therapeutic methodology is characterized by presence, compassionate non-judgmental engagement, holistic attunement, and responsiveness to your individual needs.
My framework synthesizes elements from Gestalt therapy, cognitive behavioral approaches, attachment theory, and psychodynamic perspective. My specializations include eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use; I am committed to understanding the deeply personal ways these experiences shape your life, relationships, and sense of self.
I cultivate an affirming environment that celebrates intersectional experiences, gender diversity, relational complexity, and bodily autonomy. I recognize you as the expert of your lived experience. Our therapeutic relationship represents a collaborative, dynamic process—simultaneously gentle and challenging—guided by your wisdom and capacity for growth.
I am currently accepting in-person only clients 18+ who are residents of New Jersey and New York at my office in Downtown, Jersey City. Sessions are $200 and 50 minutes in duration. I do not accept insurance but can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for services.
